Yeah its going to be tough to first find a place to hold the event, and second, accomodate everyone's needs. But hopefully if we plan early enough we'll be able to hash things out quickly.
I think that the 10th is a good date since sports will be over with and it's early enough before exams. Not many people should have conflicts on a Sunday so I think that that's another plus.
June 10th sounds like a really good date but no one has talked about a starting time do we want to start at like 7am and end at 7pm or start late around 11am and end late around 11pm??
I agree with mary, however mass times vary, is there a way that those people who do go to mass can try and go to an earlier service so they may be out by 11 at the latest?
Yeah, I absolutely think that people should be able to get to mass, go home and change and be at the chosen home by 11. Which also leads to the question of where? Any leads on location?
I talked to my mom and my dad and they have told me that we can host the readathon at my house on June 10 from 11am-11pm it seems that this has seemed to be the set date and time.
if everyone agrees to doing it at my house thats cool my address is 420 East Third Street Moorestown... you know the rest.
I do ask however that if it is going to be at my house that people car pool because parking space is limitied.
So we'll all talk to Laz and see whats best but my house is definately an option. And Laz I will have written conformation on Tuesday.
So everyone can respond to this how they may, if you have any questions just ask at school... if we dont do it at my house thats cool too... but its there ya know.
For periods 5/6 and 10. I think that we should begin the reading at the Helms Deep battle instead of the beginning of the book because the Helms Deep battle is the most exciting part of the whole story. If I'm going to be reading for 12 hours it better be something exciting, not something that's going to put me to sleep. For all of those who haven't seen the beginning rent the movie or the book to read before June 10th. -YA DIGG
The 10th works for me too. I think 11-11 is a good plan also, and if Tracy's mom can guarantee the Lenola Fire Hall that would be ideal. See everyone there for a fun 12 hours of LOTR!
I agree with Neal-Mink. We should really start reading at Helm's Deep. I don't think everyone is going to want to be stuck reading a drug out introduction for 12 hours. Class period 11 is on board we just need the other two classes to agree. The Lenola Firehouse seems like a good place...see everyone there.
I agree with Neal-Mink and Pat. Twelve hours is a long time, and many people say that the story begins really slow. I don't want to go and be bored right away. If we are going to be doing this for 12 hours I want some excitement involved. If we do start with Helms Deep maybe before we start reading we do a little overview of the book in case people haven't ever read or seen the movies before.
It is hard for some people to just jump right into the middle of a story and understand what is going on. I feel that starting at the beginning gives everyone time to comprehend and not be confused, and also to get everyone used to the general plot which affects the entire story.
